Machine Operator (Nights)

This is a hands-on machine operating role requiring previous experience in machine set-up, calibration, and technical troubleshooting. It is not a push-button position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall machine operation
• Verify each scheduled production order prior to starting set-up
• Order components based on shop order requirements
• Perform all machine set-ups and adjustments as required
• Unwrap, trim, and prepare rolls for shafting
• Maintain adequate level of glue in pans, drums, or hot melt applicator hopper
• Prepare for the next scheduled order
• Maintain cleanliness of machine and adjacent area
• Perform First Article of Inspection at bag set-ups; conduct 30-minute bag teardowns and other quality procedures (visual checks, adjustments, etc.) to maintain bag quality
• Inform management of any substandard materials or mechanical/electrical repairs needed

Requirements

• High School GED or Diploma (Associate’s Degree from an accredited college preferred)
• Two years minimum of machine operating experience in a related industry
• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to read measuring tools
• Must complete Safety Orientation, Departmental Safety Training, and OSHA Standards Training
• Work experience with computers and other business equipment
• Annual completion of Hazardous Waste Management training (provided by ProAmpac)

Pay

Up to $26/hr (pending experience).

Schedule

Able to work a rotating schedule (2-2-3) on 12-hour night shifts from 7pm to 7am.
