Machine Operator - Level 2 - 24/7 Night - $1.5K Sign on Bonus

About the role

At this level, the associate performs more complex duties per standard work, including process changeovers and troubleshooting with minimal guidance. They recognize and solve non-routine problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Complete set-up and operation of machining equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform start-stop procedures, including machine and conveyor start-up, loading raw material, and machine shutdown.
• Perform simple and advanced changes, adjustments, and set-up to tooling and fixtures.
• Complete records and forms.
• Check machined parts visually and dimensionally according to quality standards.
• Clean chips from tooling and parts.
• Recognize and report machine malfunctions and part discrepancies to supervisor.
• Preset tooling as required.
• Set-up parts, process, and machine as required.
• Perform daily, semi-annual, and annual machine maintenance.
• Correct problems in set-up, non-conformance, tooling, and machining processes.
• Make suggestions for process changes that may improve machining operations.
• Maneuver around machine, including standing, bending, stretching, and walking.
• Repair, replace, and/or modify equipment if required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 30 months of applicable machining experience (external candidates).
• Fully qualified as a Level 2 Machine Operator (internal candidates).
• Advanced knowledge of metal or plastic cutting processes and equipment.
• Self-motivated and able to learn at a fast pace.
• Proficient in machining, communication, and troubleshooting.
• Operate machine, including loading/unloading parts and using inspection gages, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Identify and correct machining problems related to tools, tool holders, collets, and chucks.

Working Conditions

• Ability to safely perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
• Regular, punctual attendance required.
• May require passing pre-employment and annual vision acuity tests.
• Regularly lift kegs and boxes between 25–35 pounds; occasionally lift 35–50 pounds.
• Considerable standing, stooping, and bending required.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.40–$25.80 per hour, with additional compensation through overtime and a 10% shift differential for off-shift work. Starting pay is based on skills, experience, and qualifications. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is payable after 30 days of active employment, subject to applicable taxes and withholdings.

Schedule

24/7 nights (6:00 PM – 6:15 AM).
