Machine Operator II

Job Summary

The Machine Operator I performs standardized operations, recognizes defective materials and machine malfunctions, and observes continuous operation of machines to ensure that products meet specifications.

Essential Functions

• Operating of one or more production machines such as a grinder, mill, drill press, lathe, etc.
• Read work orders, work instructions, or formulas.
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring instruments.
• Maintain Kurt Manufacturing’s quality standards.

Required

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 month of related experience

Preferred

• 3 months of related experience

Physical Demand Factors

• Strength Level Rating: Medium work.
• Work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• A worker in this job will frequently (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time): Extend hands and arms to reach, handle, seize, hold, grasp or turn with hands
• Pick or pinch with fingers
• Use near acuity, depth perception and adjust eyes to bring objects into sharp focus
• The worker will occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time): Perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching
