MACHINE OPERATOR I (Fayette, Alabama, United States, 35555)

Primary Objective

Provides operator relief in various departments as needed.

Major Functions And Scope

• Operates production equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• May function as a changeover, must be able to assist with color changes, setting, material handling, inspection, and slab handling.
• Conducts test or inspections as required on the control plan and according to test methods.
• Performs additional job tasks as documented in the job task check sheet.
• Stops production equipment when a safety, quality, or mechanical problem prevents equipment use or conformance to product requirements.
• Follows ISO operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.
• Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies And Supervision

• Education and Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 1 year previous manufacturing/production experience.
• Competencies: Good oral and written communications skills, good record keeping skills, good listening skills, accurate measurement capability, ability to understand and speak basic English, ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner, must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
• Supervision: No direct or indirect supervision.
