About the role
The Machine Operator I is an entry-level position aimed at individuals with limited manufacturing experience. This role involves basic deburring, buffing, sanding, and tumble operations, as well as minor assembly tasks.
Responsibilities
- Participate in assigned root cause analysis activities.
- Bead and sand blast.
- Run tumblers following established procedures.
- Use automated and manual equipment, chemicals to clean robots (acetone), strip coating (acetone and sand blast), run and mix the coating and painting booth, and dunking mag tubes in multiple chemical processes.
- Use Standard Laser Engraver and Automated Laser Cells to engrave all non-serialized products.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as needed.
- Completes tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
- Participate in 5S workplace organizational activities and maintain the area in good working order through sustainment activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to read and understand work instructions in English.
- Ability to perform at least 3 out of the 5 following tasks: Assembly (Mag Cell), Goff, tumble, bead blast and basic surface prep operations.
- Basic math skills required.
- Basic knowledge of gauging.
- Basic and ability to deburr.
- Able to convey ideas and information clearly, concisely, and accurately to others in English, both verbally and in written form.
Skills
- Ability to perform at least 3 out of the 5 following tasks: Assembly (Mag Cell), Goff, tumble, bead blast and basic surface prep operations.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic knowledge of gauging.
- Basic and ability to deburr.
- Ability to read and follow through on all required paperwork including, but not limited to routers, work instructions, and control plans.
- Ability to read and write in English.
