About the role
This is a 3rd Shift position (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) located in Itasca. The role requires the ability to work overtime, including varying start times, end times, and weekends based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assigned work in a safe manner and adhere to Ferrara’s safety methods.
- Adhere to all Ferrara-established GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Verify centers meet all quality standards regarding size and solids.
- Responsible for the safe operation and sanitary upkeep of an entire bay of pans.
- Load raw materials into machines according to proper size, weight, procedure, and recipe.
- Adjust controls to regulate temperature, amount of raw materials, and other variables.
- Check the production schedule to determine variety and quantity of products to engross.
- Conduct periodic quality checks and changeovers.
- Maintain hygiene and general organization of the entire work area, including cleanup of equipment and prevention of cross-contamination.
- Operate all equipment safely with all guards in place.
- Inform the immediate supervisor of any problems encountered, including quality, safety, or equipment performance issues.
Requirements
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot problems with all necessary process equipment.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality, with the ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime as required.
- Capable of understanding time-tracking objectives, including swiping into orders and performing other system-related tasks.
- Promotes teamwork, possesses a good attitude, and exhibits flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and keep up with line speeds in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of food manufacturing experience preferred.

Pay
$25.50 per hour plus a $0.58 per hour shift differential.
Schedule
3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Overtime is required, including mandated or voluntary shifts to meet peak demand, cover absences, or handle urgent projects.
