About the role

As a Machine Operator I, you will operate various types of equipment to prepare glass for the next department and/or the end user customer. This includes operating cutting equipment, grinding/polishing, CNC, and/or a tempering furnace. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency), a solid work ethic, reliability, and problem-solving skills. You will report to the Production Supervisor and be a vital member of the Production Team at an industry-leading company.

Responsibilities

  • On/off-loading of product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
  • Review work orders and load the proper data into the machine computer software.
  • Adhere to production requirements and quality control plans.
  • Visually inspect each piece of glass to ensure there are no imperfections.
  • Perform work as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure to verify correct dimensions.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1-2 years of prior operating experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work with deadlines, and work overtime when required.
  • Work performed inside a production environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
  • Must tolerate moderate to high noise levels in the work environment.
  • Must be able to work in climate conditions typical of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).

Pay

Starting pay is $24 per hour.
