Safety
Safely sets up, operates, and monitors bag machinery and equipment as intended and needed to meet customer and production goals.
Essential Duties
- Completes bag machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Makes sure the production process is monitored, inspected, and tested to ensure products meet quality standards and production quotas are met.
- Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations.
- Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.
- Trains and provides guidance to machine assistants and new crew members.
- Ensures machinery and surrounding areas are kept organized according to housekeeping, storage, staging, and cleanliness requirements.
- Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.
- Works effectively with other departments or team members, such as machine technicians, supervisors, and quality control inspectors, to coordinate production activities and address any potential issues as they arise.
Qualifications, Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing or related field assisting or operating a machine for a minimum of 4 years.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
- Exceptional time management and organization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establish priorities to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
- Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision-making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
- Self-confident, self-motivated, polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands
- This role will regularly use plant machinery which certification may be required.
- This role routinely works around moving equipment.
- May need to get on and off equipment, stairs.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
