Machine Operator (D Shift)

Job Description

Sika is looking for an experienced Machine Operator to join its growing team in the Canton, MA area for our Roofing business. The Machine Operator will work D shift which is Thurs, Fri, Sat, and every other Wednesday 6pm to 6Am.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a PLC controlled 120 wide tandem flexible PVC extrusion coating line
• The operation will include set up, operation, breakdown and cleaning of all components
• The development of proper processing parameters during operation to optimize line speeds and yields
• Safe operation of forklifts to transport materials to workstations
• Ensure proper quality review of the product on workstations assigned
• Follow all company policies, including environmental policy and notify supervisor of any concern that may affect work area or company property
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience with plastics, vinyl coating, lamination or printing production highly desirable
• Ability to read and write English
• Good verbal communications skills
• Understanding of how to use a touch-screen (PLC) production line
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures
• And willingness to work overtime if required
• Availability and willingness to cover any shift with prior notification
