Machine Operator (Core/Mandrel)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Safe operation of equipment and safety of personnel
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Operate extrusion machinery, perform PM functions, and troubleshoot
• Read and interpret machine drawings and blueprints
• Measure WIP and finished assemblies accurately
• Perform changeovers and machine repairs
• Run operations according to DPR/WI guidelines
• Provide technical support to Engineering and PD
• Qualify new tooling and processes
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Communicate technical issues to all levels
• Maintain documentation in compliance with standards
• Inspect raw materials and products
• Train other operators

Qualifications

• High School/GED level education
• 5 years of experience in extrusion process, including equipment knowledge and thermos plastics
• Associate's degree in technology with an emphasis on plastics or a related discipline preferred

• Mathematical aptitude for calculating flow rate and measurements
• Strong hand and eye coordination
• Manual dexterity and mechanical reasoning skills
• Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of correct machine set-up and operation
• Learns quickly and adapts to new situations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret documents and write reports
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and demonstrate hand-eye coordination

Physical/Work Requirements

• Frequent lifting and moving up to 35 lbs
• Sometimes lifting and moving up to 50 lbs
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Repetitive movement and visual acuity
• Occasional overtime work
