Machine Operator (CMM)-3rd Shift

About the Role

This 3rd shift position involves inspecting a range of components, parts, and products to ensure compliance with all applicable specifications and quality assurance instructions. The role includes identifying quality issues in design, process, or other inefficiencies to meet quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform Operator Level inspections using CMM equipment of various types.
• Conduct examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, and components at various stages of the production process.
• Participate in analyzing statistical data from processes to confirm compliance or identify deviations from standards.
• Prepare and complete documentation for reporting acceptance or rejection of inspected and tested items.
• Identify design, process, or other inefficiencies and report quality concerns.
• Perform routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies, and tooling.
• Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Provide expertise in metrology solutions, including laser tracker/PCMM inspections, machine alignments, reverse engineering, tool building, assembly, and software/hardware training.
• Generate inspection reports to customer specifications, including Drawing Based, First Article Inspection, Model Based Definition, and Dimensional inspection reports.
• Maintain equipment by performing field calibrations and verifying manufacturers' maximum performance errors.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness using manufacturers' specifications.
• Adhere to regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; may require nights, weekends, and additional hours as necessary.
• Treat all organizational information and data with confidentiality and security.
• Cooperate in risk management activities and report suspected violations of laws, regulations, or policies.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
• Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable compliance and legal requirements.
• Observe and comply with safety policies, Codes of Safe Practice, and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; a combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted.
• Two (2) years of relevant experience in composite manufacturing or repair.

Skills

• Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and systematic QA approach.
• Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment.
• Capable of interpreting and following written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches.
• General knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Proficient computer skills.
• Experience using Laser Trackers (Leica, Faro, API), PCMMs (Romer and Faro arms), 3D Laser scanners, and Total Stations.
• Solid knowledge of Computer Aided Measuring software (Verisurf, Polyworks, Spatial Analyzer, Buildit, etc.).
• Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Solid knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Solid knowledge of 3D CAD.
• Knowledge of aerospace tooling, composites manufacturing, and assembly.

Schedule

3rd shift with overtime required for this production position.
