About the role
Stryten Energy is expanding its battery poly manufacturing and recycling operations to address industry-wide supply constraints. The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating molding/finishing machines to meet quantity and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Tend molding/finishing machines in line with company specifications.
- Inspect, trim, flame, clip, gauge parts, and pack product as required.
- Perform dielectric test and other tests as required.
- Use attribute gauges to determine any non-conformance.
- Inspects for missing and damaged bushings.
- Placed inspection tag on pallet of painted (coated) lead after successfully coating lead per the control plan.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of the production department as instructed by management.
- Communicate with Supervisor of production problems and relay information to replacement operators.
- Report unsafe conditions to the Supervisor for immediate action.
- Complete all required hazardous waste training and comply with all Stryten hazardous waste and handling procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- General verbal, written, and math skills (adding, subtracting three-digit numbers).
- Visual acuity to detect visual defects.
- Ability to walk frequently at workstation and between workstation and packing.
- Standing for up to four hours at a time.
- Frequent bending at the waist (or knee).
- Grasping and picking up parts, trimming parts, inserting bushings, holding and using dielectric tester, packing, and labeling parts.
- Handling large work (35 lbs minimum).
- Able to work overtime on an as needed/required basis.
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
- Proficient in English (ready, writing & verbal skills).

- Keeps accurate production records. Completes labels properly.
- Advises Supervisor of production problems, relays information to replacement operators regarding work status.
- During the shift, reports to workstation in timely manner, leaves station only when relieved or with Supervisor permission.
- Visually inspects parts according to control plan, (i.e., shorts, flash, stress, damage, etc.). Reports rejects as soon as possible to Quality Coordinator, Supervisor or as required on the control plan.
- Maintains housekeeping and cleanliness of the production department as instructed by management as well as press upkeep as assigned.
- Reports unsafe conditions to the Supervisor for immediate action.
