Sandvik Coromant in Westminster, SC is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and operate various machining equipment while ensuring processes meet blueprint specifications. This role includes performing quality checks using process-specific measuring devices to verify compliance and maintain production accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Select and prioritize jobs using the Tracking Control System or as directed by leadership.
- Set up equipment in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and specifications, including creating and adjusting basic CNC programs.
- Adjust machine parameters as trained, including performing required robot calibrations.
- Verify process capability using SPC or other control methods, utilizing process-specific measurement tools such as PER, RollER, comparators, and the Hawk Vision System.
- Ensure all products meet required visual (ocular) inspection standards.
- Monitor operations to maintain established efficiency and utilization targets.
- Proactively identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in collaboration with peers, supervisors, and engineers.
- Perform routine equipment and tooling maintenance, including evaluating tooling conditions and requirements.
- Support team development by participating in skill-building activities and assisting in training less experienced operators on equipment and related systems.
- Promote a positive team environment by fostering teamwork, communication, and collaboration across the workgroup and processes.
- Operate and utilize robotic transport systems as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and complete all assigned daily housekeeping responsibilities.

- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
- Adhere to all company rules and safety policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a mechanical or manufacturing industry preferred.
- Current authorization to work in the United States; Sandvik cannot provide employment-based visa sponsorship for this role, now or in the future.
- This role is based on-site in Westminster, SC; remote or international work arrangements are not available.
- Relocation assistance is not provided.
Schedule
Weekend Night Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (7:00 PM to 7:15 AM).
Pay
W2 pay classification: $17.00 - $27.85 per hour, plus a $5.00 shift premium.
