About the role
The Edge Band Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the machine that applies finished edges to cabinet components, in a precise way, using machine technology to input cut sizes and formatting. The ideal candidate will be familiar with basic computer skills. The most important ability for a machine operator is mechanical skills, including ability to read a tape measure. Additionally, it is important that machine operators exhibit physical strength and stamina.
Responsibilities
- Produces wood cabinetry parts from raw material by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
- Maintain stable work pace.
- Input correct sizing and formatting for cuts.
- Serve as quality control by reporting all deficiencies.
- Be able to operate a forklift.
- Alternate between operating a Packsize machine and palletizing components for shipping.
- Monitor packaging supplies to ensure an adequate amount is available for the shift.
- Set up equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
- Ability to measure to 1/16 of an inch on a tape measure.
- Warehouse experience (forklift certification not required).
