Machine Operator

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicates with employees from your own departments to ensure a team environment.
  • Makes process decisions and ensures product quality conforms with quality audit specifications.
  • Reads specifications and schedules to prepare for upcoming jobs.
  • Maintains machine operation.
  • Uses forklift/roll clamp to transport product.
  • Palletizes rolls and wraps on stretch wrapper to prepare for shipping.
  • Ties bales on trim balers and broke balers.
  • Sets up core cutter and cuts cores.
  • Trains and sets up next crew for success.
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently at shift change to Operators and Supervisors.

Schedule

Shift: 2-2-3 rotation between days and nights.

Work Environment

  • Work primarily in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • May be exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, inks, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly use plant machinery which certification may be required. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
