About the Role

Machine Operators work directly with the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements. Using Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and approved samples, operators verify product specifications, maintain production timelines, and uphold operational standards. This classification is typically used in injection molding manufacturing, tooling, operations, fabrication, distribution, and quality functions, and is authorized by the production manager based on the scope and complexity of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Produce parts according to SWI and directions from the Shift Supervisor.
  • Inspect parts for quality to ensure they meet customer input and report non-conforming issues to the Lead Operator, Shift Supervisor, and Quality team.
  • Assume responsibility for the quality of produced parts and exercise authority to prevent non-conforming products.
  • Package parts for shipping and label boxes with appropriate information per SWI.
  • Maintain production logs and other required documentation as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Quality team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Thorough understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, production equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of, and ability to abide by, applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical or vocational training and/or job-related experience with an emphasis in injection molding.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Visual acuity as needed to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
