Machine Operator
Brief Description
Perform advanced set up, operation, and monitoring of production in a work center and participate in the continuous improvement process to address safety, production, and quality improvements.
Additional tasks include assisting with material flow (loading, unloading, lifting, and moving material), providing guidance to support personnel, operating equipment to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move product, conducting in-process quality checks, resolving issues, assisting with equipment maintenance, maintaining and monitoring machine functionality, operating forklifts, interpreting production work orders, recording and reporting production data, maintaining work area, equipment, and tools, counting and reporting inventory, spinning down pre-slit coil stock, completing appropriate packaging, loading and unloading will-call customers, LTL vans, and flatbed trucks with forklift, and being flexible to work overtime as needed.
Requirements
- Educational requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred; trade school or military experience a plus.
- Experience and skills: Forklift experience preferred; must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds; requires solid written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated mechanical aptitude including basic troubleshooting skills; strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills; excellent math skills and overall PC literacy; must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task; team oriented with effective communication skills preferred; must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and E-verify.
