Machine Operator

Starting pay: $26.76 per hour plus shift differential ($1.50 for afternoon shift & $1.00 for overnight shift).

As a Machine Operator, you are responsible for operating various machines in the production areas while adhering to safety requirements, quality parameters, and in-process checks. Materion values diversity and offers growth opportunities for those with the desire to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed parts instructions and ensure processing requirements are completed.
• Record process data as required by standard operating procedures.
• Troubleshoot minor problems with equipment.
• Inspect parts both visually and dimensionally using proper measuring equipment.
• Interpret visual specifications to recognize and classify defective material.
• Perform testing and inspection of materials and/or parts throughout the processing sequence.
• Wear and work in personal protective equipment.
• Lift a minimum of 45 lbs. and maneuver large, cumbersome equipment.
• Perform data entry and operate a computer.
• Stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to finger, handle, grip, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch as required.
• Push/pull up to 130 pounds of force.
• Work in environments with hot temperature conditions.
• Operate manufacturing equipment such as forklifts on occasion.

Requirements

• Flexibility to work afternoon and overnight shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
• Flexibility to work 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment operating equipment.
• Ability to use measuring devices, such as micrometers and gauges.
• Mechanical interest and aptitude.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus when reading.

Qualifications

The selection of the person hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations). Candidates must qualify as one of the following:

• A U.S. citizen.
• A U.S. National.
• A lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
• A person admitted into the U.S. as an asylee or refugee.
• A national of a country not prohibited from accessing U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance).
• A person approved for an export license by the governing agency.

Any job offer requiring export license approval will be conditional on Materion’s ability to obtain the license in a timeframe consistent with business requirements.
