Machine Operator
About the role
The Machine Operator position at Hampton Lumber involves safely and efficiently operating sawmill equipment to meet production requirements and quality standards. Key responsibilities include monitoring machine performance, maintaining product quality, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate assigned machinery
- Maintain cleanliness of operator cab and work area
- Monitor machine operation to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production flow
- Conduct daily inspections
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Sawmill, wood products, or forest products industry experience preferred
Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate equipment while maintaining production and quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Skills
Preferred qualifications include:
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Sawmill, wood products, or forest products industry experience
