PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The Production Associate, Machine Operator role involves fabricating parts from steel, copper, or aluminum according to blueprints. Responsibilities include communicating with team members, setting up, operating, and maintaining machines, and ensuring quality standards.
Essential Functions
- Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with policies and performing 5S duties.
- Work from travel documents, blueprints, and instructions to set up, operate, and perform maintenance on various machines.
- Maintain progress on assigned jobs and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Proactively identify process improvements and conduct root cause analysis for quality or production issues.
- Ensure quality by measuring parts with tools, inspecting materials visually, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
- Cross-train and cover for other employees as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of experience as a machine operator or completion of a machine certificate program.
- No relocation benefit offered.
- Immediate area of Sumter facility (50-mile radius) preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, including punch and bend tooling.
- Experience with blueprints and measuring devices.
- Experience with Eaton systems and equipment.

Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach, grip, handle, and feel.
- Frequent lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds.
- Sometimes stoop, push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds.
- Regular exposure to noise and frequent exposure to dust.
