Responsibilities
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
- Sets up and operates cutting equipment as required.
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.
- Sets up and operates tools and other equipment as necessary.
- Performs inspection work, including final inspection.
- Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Monitors own work to ensure quality.
Qualifications
- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
- Ability to read blueprints and plans.
- Minimum Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of trade school apprenticeship or equivalent shop experience. Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to perform the job.
- The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities: 1-3 Years in a manufacturing environment, Machine shop experience, Attention to detail, Computer operations (Windows).
