Machine Operator

About the role

A Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery involved in the production of aluminum products. These roles often require technical skills and precision in handling specialized equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities

• Models the values and benefits of the company, respects the individual always, and communicates openly and directly with all team members.
• Handle and control machines that shape, cut, form, and process aluminum materials
• Set up equipment according to the specifications for each production run, including loading raw materials and adjusting machine settings when permitted.
• Inspect materials and products to ensure they meet specified standards, and make necessary adjustments to the machine or process to correct any issues.
• Check every first and tenth part to ensure material is processed according to specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including wearing protective equipment and ensuring the work environment is hazard-free
• Identify and resolve issues with machinery, notifying management as needed to ensure minimal downtime in the production process.
• Keep detailed records of production data, to include clocking in and out on the work order correctly and filling in Doppler numbers.
• Follow all requirements in compliance with ISO standards.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write English.
• Knowledge/experience of manufacturing machines like punches, computerized saws, benders, etc
• Must be able to read shop schematics/shop drawings
• Must be able to accurately read and interpret a tape measure
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, organized and communicates well verbally and in writing
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, and walking. Capability to lift heavy objects of 50 pounds or more. Requires working in a production setting with exposure to changing temperatures and noise levels. Fine motor skills: Precision tasks, such as operating machinery, assembling parts, quick reactions, and the use of equipment with heavy vibrations and resistance. Pushing & Pulling: May be required to push or pull objects, such as carts, machinery, or ladders, which may involve both hands and feet.

Schedule

Work 40 hours per week with overtime required as needed
