Machine Operator
About the role
The Decorating Machine position involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment, visually checking print quality, ensuring product quality, loading and sorting product, applying printed labels to boxes, and assisting with change-overs. This role also requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Visually check quality of print against approved samples.
- Load product into lid and cup printers.
- Sort through start-up processes.
- Pack parts and verify count is correct.
- Stir and add ink.
- Clean blankets and plates.
- Change and trim blankets.
- Start/stop printers.
- Clean color heads, rollers, and fountains.
- Set up color heads for next print run.
- Absorb printed labels onto boxes.
- Assist decorating technicians with change-overs.
- Check plates, inks, labels, and color standards against travelers.
- Clear unload in-feed and restacker jams.
- Maintain appropriate speed assigned each printer.
- Follow all GMPs, Food Safety, and CCPs.
- Maintain paperwork such as audits, downtime logs, and etc.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma, equivalent, or on-the-job training.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems.
