The Machine Operator position in Franklin, WI is crucial for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility, contributing to Saputo's strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Responsibilities

  • Set-up, operate, and maintain machines within multiple departments to ensure high quality products, smooth operation, and proper maintenance.
  • Ensure all adjustments, minor repairs, and change overs of equipment are completed to maintain proper operation.
  • Maintain neat, accurate, and legible records and documentation.
  • Operate metal detectors as needed, complete required paperwork, and perform quality control.
  • Monitor and oversee the quality of the finished product by maintaining equipment and facility hygiene.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure packaging meets customer specifications as per the production sheet.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures, including GMP, SOP, HACCP, SSOP, and H&S.
  • Keep work area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
  • Minimize waste and utilize downtime productively.
  • Attend safety and departmental meetings.
  • Sanitize lines when necessary.
  • Enter data on production reports.

Qualifications

  • Ability to consistently push, pull, and lift between 20 and 100 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of production and plant processes.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and required overtime as needed.
  • Reliability, honesty, respect, attention to detail, and punctuality.
  • Basic analytical and numerical skills, including simple mathematical calculations.
  • Effective communication and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Self-motivation, teamwork, and commitment to food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to read and comprehend production worksheets.
  • Professionalism and positive representation of Saputo.
  • Physical capabilities to work in a manufacturing environment, including noise, temperature changes, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs, maneuvering around equipment, and lifting up to 40 lbs unassisted.
