About the role
TekniPlex Healthcare, based in Clayton, NC, is seeking a Machine Operator to join their team. This position is available on a 3rd shift basis from Sunday to Thursday, working from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with potential for overtime.
Responsibilities
- Set-up/Changeover extruder according to specification using material in pellet form to produce products meeting customer specifications, dimensions and weight.
- Troubleshoot all related equipment, including extruder and controls.
- Make machine adjustments to ensure product meets dimensional and physical specifications, including adjustments to dies, speed and temperature.
- Able to install and change appropriate tooling (cores, dies, head, screens, etc.).
- Weigh and mix pelletized materials according to production work order.
- Understand polymer resins and drying requirements.
- Complete product traceability, logs, production reports, data entry, etc. as required to document extrusion related activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of manufacturing experience; preferably in extrusion or injection molding.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to obtain forklift certification through the company.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours or more.

Work Environment

- Occasional exposure to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme heat, and outside weather conditions.
