About the role

This is a 3rd shift position (Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The Machine Operator II will cut or slice foam to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

Coordinate flow of foam and orders throughout production.
Report to the lead person at the beginning of each shift to determine cutting or slitting tasks.
Check all tags and measure each block before cutting to ensure correct sizes.
Assist in unloading machines when needed.
Re-measure foam after cutting or slicing to verify proper size according to the ticket.
Assist others in pulling blocks from the wall that can be used.
Mark blocks placed on the wall with size and proper foam type.
Change blades as needed (proper gloves required).
Perform other duties as requested.
Practice good safety techniques and maintain housekeeping in the shipping area.
Cut foam using spec sheets.
Operate all machines in the department and fill in for any required job.
Cross-train on new machines as they are introduced.
Train new employees on any job as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Machine operation experience strongly preferred.
Computer skills and ability to read a tape measure.
Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
