Machine Operator (3rd Shift)

About the role
This is a 3rd shift position (Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The Machine Operator II will cut or slice foam to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate flow of foam and orders throughout production.
- Report to the lead person at the beginning of each shift to determine cutting or slitting tasks.
- Check all tags and measure each block before cutting to ensure correct sizes.
- Assist in unloading machines when needed.
- Re-measure foam after cutting or slicing to verify proper size according to the ticket.
- Assist others in pulling blocks from the wall that can be used.
- Mark blocks placed on the wall with size and proper foam type.
- Change blades as needed (proper gloves required).
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Practice good safety techniques and maintain housekeeping in the shipping area.
- Cut foam using spec sheets.
- Operate all machines in the department and fill in for any required job.
- Cross-train on new machines as they are introduced.
- Train new employees on any job as needed.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Machine operation experience strongly preferred.
- Computer skills and ability to read a tape measure.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
