Machine Operator 3rd shift

Founded in 1921, Doumak, Inc. is the leading producer of marshmallows sold under the Campfire® and Fireside® brands, as well as private label products. Our two Chicago-area facilities manufacture bagged regular and miniature marshmallows distributed worldwide through wholesale, retail grocery, and food service channels.

About the role

Machine Operators at our Bensenville, IL facility operate packaging machines and case packers to produce quality marshmallow bags that meet film, code, weight, and product specifications. Operators ensure bags are properly packed into cases and assist with change-overs, clean-ups, and general maintenance of the pack room.

Responsibilities

• Operate pack machines to produce quality bags with correct film, code, weight, and product
• Ensure case packer receives properly formed bags for correct case packing
• Assist with change-overs, clean-ups, and general maintenance of the pack room
• Collaborate with team members on operational tasks

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write English and perform basic math
• Regularly lift up to 40 pounds
• Work experience in food manufacturing environment (confectionery experience preferred)
• Willingness to work weekends when required (overtime and double-time pay apply)

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $18.00

• After 1 year: $19.00/hour
• After 2 years: $20.00/hour
• After 3 years: $21.00/hour
• After 4 years: $22.00/hour
• After 5 years: Full scale rate

Schedule

• 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday
• 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday
