Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

About the role

SP Industries Inc. is hiring for a Machine Operator – 2nd Shift in Pocomoke City, MD. In this role, you will assemble completed desiccators and pipette pumps from component parts, test the finished units, and pack them for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Remove molded products from the molding machine and visually inspect, de‑gate and trim parts when necessary.
• Perform limited size inspection using gauges, micrometer calipers, or special fixtures.
• Bag parts and apply header cards or labels as required.
• Carry out post‑molding operations such as milling gates, drilling holes, inserting inserts, hand removal of mold components, hot stamping, etc., at the molding machine and during the molding cycle.
• Properly pack finished or semi‑finished parts into master cartons.
• Operate a regrinding machine, rework or inspect other molded parts, and fill in on other machines as demand rises.
• Maintain production statistics and prepare a report for the Lead Operator at end of shift.
• Work safely: comply with health, safety and environmental procedures; do not remove or alter safety devices unless energies are controlled via lockout‑tagout; report unsafe conditions, acts, equipment defects; use required protective equipment; attend required HSE training; report accidents/incidents; assist in investigations; avoid horseplay, pranks, contests, feats of strength, unnecessary running or rough conduct.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some manufacturing experience helpful but not required.
• Solid work history and attendance record.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Pay

$15–$17 per hour.

Schedule

Full‑time 4‑10 hour 2nd shift, Monday – Thursday, 4:00 pm – 2:30 am.
