About the role

As a Machine Operator, you are responsible for the efficiency and output of work orders assigned to your machine, ensuring throughput, packaging, and quality expectations are met or exceeded based on customer order specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, behavior, and actions aligned with Oxco core values: Caring, Creativity, Determination, Dependability, and Teamwork, as well as Oxco’s Valued Colleague Pledge.
  • Operate machines with a strong focus on safety, adhering to all safety requirements.
  • Perform quality control by serving as a material inspector to ensure all quality standards are met.
  • Process orders by understanding and executing customer-specific details on work orders, including:
    • Length and width specifications
    • Core size and core attachment
    • Splices and splice type (if applicable)
    • OD parameters
    • Other special customer requirements noted in the comments section, while operating within standard procedures.
  • Set up machines properly to start production cycles.
  • Package materials according to work order specifications, including:
    • Wrapping type
    • Pallet size and type
    • Quantity and orientation
  • Maintain efficiency by working productively while adhering to safe operating practices and quality workmanship.
  • Use systems and/or paperwork to accurately record time, consumption, output, and quality notes.
  • Escalate any issues or concerns to the Supervisor, Plant Manager, or VP of Manufacturing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience operating industrial machines in a production environment.

Skills

  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and communication.
  • Strong problem-solving ability to work independently and collaboratively to resolve issues.
  • Effective collaboration with team members to achieve established outcomes.
