Machine Operator - 2nd Shift
About the role
New Flyer is seeking a motivated and skilled Machine Operator for our 2nd shift to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain various types of machinery to produce high-quality components for our transit buses. Your expertise will ensure production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Schedule
4:00 PM - 2:30 AM, Monday to Thursday
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machinery in accordance with production requirements and safety guidelines
- Monitor equipment during operation to ensure efficiency and quality of production
- Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on machines
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products and document findings
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and troubleshoot any issues
Requirements
- Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Ability to understand technical specifications, blueprints, and instructions
- Knowledge of machine operation, setup, and maintenance is essential
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Flexibility to work extended hours and adjust to changing production priorities
