About the Role

Join our team at Emerson Discrete Automation in Aiken, South Carolina as a 2nd Shift Machine Operator. This role works with the Fabrication Supervisor and is responsible for various operations within the Fabrication Department.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints including GD&T
  • Use a variety of measuring instruments to maintain product quality, including calipers, micrometers, height stands, and bore gages
  • Load parts and/or bar stock into and out of CNC or manual machines as directed
  • Identify, document, and dispose of scrap parts
  • Scan order routers to and from equipment to ensure current order location traceability
  • Add hydraulic oil, lube oil(s), and/or cutting fluids to machines as part of the TPM process
  • Obey all safety rules and stop work if continuing is unsafe or will create an unsafe condition; report all safety concerns immediately
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the department supervisor or leads

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to learn to read and use calipers, micrometers, measuring tape, and other measuring devices
  • Ability to communicate with setup and/or lead personnel to explain quality issues or concerns
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude in all communication and interaction situations
  • Must be a team player
