About the role

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Machine Operator to join our Roxboro, NC location. The core hours for this role are 2:15 pm - 10:45 pm, with the willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

The Machine Operator role involves routine tasks such as performing grinding, select fit sizing, and/or assembly operations. This includes performing quality inspections, machine set-ups, basic troubleshooting, manual handling of material, LOTO, and 5S activities. Non-routine tasks include sorting questionable materials, processing rework, and assisting other product lines.

  • Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
  • Work from control plans, blueprints, and/or oral instructions in order to setup, operate, and maintain the machines.
  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production.
  • Responsible for quality, including measuring finished parts, visual inspections of material, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
  • Expected to cross train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Required. Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, machine operation, or production related experience.

  • Previous experience with computerized machining equipment is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow standardized work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, and complete production and quality documentation.
  • Basic computer skills for production tracking, data entry, and machine interfaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills that support a collaborative and cohesive teamwork environment.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $22.25 per hour.
