Machine Operator 2 (B Shift/Night)- Starting at $23.85/hr.

Overview

This position is a Day Shift role based in Mason, Ohio, working from 6:45 am to 7:00 pm on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule. Benefits start on day one, including paid lunch breaks.

Responsibilities

• Operate a group of plastic blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment to produce containers safely and with high quality.
• Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
• Perform and/or assist in mold, insert, and color changes on the line.
• Perform basic processing of injection and/or blow molding machines to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
• Monitor HDPE/PET resin (if applicable), dryer, material handling, and color systems for appropriate processing conditions.
• Make frequent, on-time quality checks on products using established quality standards.
• Assist other operators and maintenance personnel with mechanical repairs.
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance work and maintain work areas to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.
• Complete and file all required documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
• Communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to coordinate production line support staff.
• Verify material usage per standards and perform minor troubleshooting and programming on the line.
• Notify leads and supervisors of any major problems or questions.
• Operate equipment to minimize waste and maximize the use of regrind, purge, and scrap within customer specifications.
• Properly identify regrind and chunk produced.
• Communicate processing information to designated personnel on incoming shifts and assist other operators as needed.
• Assist in the training of new operators.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
• Perform tasks and responsibilities of any Utility position during slow periods and/or as needed.
• Limited travel may be required.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years in manufacturing is required.
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
• Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within parameters of instructions, prescribed routines, and standard practices.
• Strong communication skills: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives and volunteers to help others.
