About the role

Cornwall Building Brands is seeking a Harvey the Glass Cutting Machine Operator to join our team. This position operates and maintains glass cutting machinery to produce glass components according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate glass cutting machines, CNC cutters, or manual cutting equipment.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurement specifications.
• Measure, mark, and align glass sheets to ensure accurate cuts.
• Maintain machine performance and adjust settings to maintain precision.
• Inspect cut glass for defects, accuracy, and quality compliance.
• Handle and move glass safely using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on machinery.
• Record production data, material usage, and job completion details.
• Follow proper procedures for waste disposal and material handling.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE requirements and safe glass-handling practices.
• Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or quality issues to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• 2 - 5 years Quality/MFG experience in a non-electronics/non-food setting.
• Knowledge of Window Quality specifications preferred.
• Knowledge of Home Construction preferred.
• Knowledge of Home Construction preferred.
• Basic knowledge in use of inspection equipment and reading technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of quality systems and tolerances (+/-, passible defects, etc).
• Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English at an intermediate level.
