Machine Operator 2 - 3rd shift Automation

Job Summary

As a Machine Operator II, you’ll have the opportunity to build new skills through cross-shift and cross-departmental training. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new processes, and working with different teams throughout the facility. CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot the operations of machinery and associated equipment to detect and report malfunctions.
• Prepare product for transfer and/or final processing.
• Inspect product output for quality and accuracy.
• Perform machine clean-up, set-up, and minor machine maintenance such as cleaning debris from machine, performing product and instrument checks, and completing equipment repairs and part replacement.
• Adjust machine parameters and controls within specifications.
• Review material availability with necessary teams and assist in securing material to support and meet production schedule.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork and reports with required signoffs.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and/or material upsets and restore machine to working condition minimizing downtime.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise on assigned shift.
• Work with other teams and/or management as necessary to resolve issues in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform accurate data entry transactions within MRP system along with accurately recording information on the Discrete job to ensure material traceability/accountability.
• Read and interpret a variety of work schedules, Kanban, Discrete job, bill of materials, pick lists, drawings and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Operate various equipment while achieving quality standards, a production plan and cost objectives.
• Perform machine changeovers.
• Perform minor adjustments and perform troubleshooting logic to maintain part specifications and conducts all operations within guidelines of the SOP's and operational codes.
• Assist in the PM of assigned machinery.
• Independently start up and operate equipment as per applicable procedures.
• Recognize technical problems that require assistance from machine shop/engineering and request support as needed.
• Provide feedback on processes and machine performance to engineering and manufacturing management.
• Provide training to other machine operators as requested.
• Continually review procedures for clarity, completeness and correctness. Demonstrate the ability to reference and talk through manufacturing procedures.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork and reports with required signoffs.
• Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School or GED Level of Degree in the general education field of study preferred
• 1 Year Manufacturing experience required
• Proficient at running 3-5 machines
• Must pass a competency test given by the Maintenance Supervisor and Production Supervisor

• Ability to read and interpret a variety of customized blue prints, travelers, SOP’s, operational codes and relevant tables and charts
• Proficient in the following computer software applications: Microsoft Office
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance, instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

COMPENSATION

The Anticipated Salary Range For This Position is $19.75 - $28.75 Hourly. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities.
