Machine Operator - 1st shift

Responsibilities

• Operate a stamping press and auxiliary equipment with manual and automated packaging processes
• Meet and/or exceed daily production goals
• Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors
• Assist mechanics whenever required to keep press/packaging equipment operational
• Correctly feed slit ribbon material into the stamping dies and perform first piece inspection
• Manually pack metal connectors and/or steel components into packaging containers
• Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers on shipping containers
• Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly
• Perform ongoing inspection of products being produced to internal quality standards
• Complete quality and production paperwork in its entirety throughout assigned shift
• Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty, including the ability to work overtime as required

Requirements

• High School/GED preferred
• Up to 1 year related experience and/or training preferred
• Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year-for-year basis
• Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts of basic geometry
• Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
• Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
• Able to use Microsoft Office Applications

Pay

$20.00/hr to $24.00/hr, based on knowledge and experience
