Machine Operator (1st Shift)

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is seeking a Machine Operator for the 1st shift.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate parts from steel, aluminum and cast metals according to blueprint specifications.
• Communicate and work with team members to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Contribute to a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with policies, proper PPE use, equipment operation, and performing 5S duties.
• Work from travel documents, blueprints, and oral/written instructions to set up, operate, and perform periodic maintenance on machines including shear, Finn Power, Prima, Horizontal Press Brakes/Benders, and Trumpf Laser.
• Maintain expected job progress and communicate concerns appropriately.
• Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and complete root cause analysis for quality or production issues.
• Ensure quality by measuring finished parts with tape measure and/or calipers, visual inspections, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
• Cross‑train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.
• Prepare machines for daily operation with proper setup and safety checks.
• Inspect finished product for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Communicate equipment issues or improvement suggestions to supervisors or team leads.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Eaton will not consider applicants requiring immigration sponsorship or support (no CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, F‑1 to H‑1B cap registration, O‑1, E‑3, TN status, I‑485 job portability, etc.).
• No relocation benefit offered; only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered (Active‑Duty Military Service members exempt from this geographic limitation).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a machine operator or graduate of a machine certificate program.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, including standard punch and bend tooling and processes.
• Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure and calipers).
• Experience with Eaton systems including DMM and AS‑400.
