About the Role

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX (the world's largest aerospace and defense company), is a global leader in aircraft engine design, manufacture, and service. This position is for a Machine Operator 1 on the AWW2 shift (Saturday–Monday, 1800–0600). The role involves operating a variety of production machines to support aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine operations on machines such as CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), polish wheel, airflow, waterflow, shot peen, furnace, grinding machines, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machine).
  • Read and interpret process sheets, deburr and clean parts, and gage parts for acceptance based on blueprint specifications.
  • Make minor offset changes with oversight and utilize measuring devices.
  • Clock labor in Solumina, perform preventative maintenance, and document results.
  • Complete Daily Walk Around (DWA), maintain communication logs, and keep dimensional data on run charts.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean, maintain quality standards, and adhere to ACE guidelines and CORE duties.
  • Frequently move about the machine line (approximately 90% of the time) and transport product/equipment weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Run all equipment in the work loop and produce product at rate per standard work.
  • Adhere to all Environmental Health & Safety (EH & S) guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks within the scope of the role to support department objectives and skill development.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g., G.E.D in the U.S.).
  • U.S. citizenship (required for access to program/contract information).

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience.
