About the role

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various machines used to cut, form, bend, shape, and spot-weld fabricated metal parts according to production work orders and specification sheets. This role includes monitoring machinery, performing quality inspections, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery (press brake, spot welder, etc.) to manufacture metal parts
• Read and interpret work orders and product specifications
• Monitor machines to ensure proper operation and output
• Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
• Record production data (employee number, work order, part number, scrap, etc.) using computer systems for tracking and reporting
• Stack and package finished products appropriately
• Maintain a clean and safe work area (housekeeping)
• Report to work consistently and on time

Requirements

• Operate production machinery including press brakes and spot welders
• Use scales, measuring equipment, tape measures, and gauges
• Read and interpret work orders and specification sheets
• Use computer systems/scanners for data tracking and reporting
