About the role
Morgan Stanley's Machine Learning Research Department works across the firm's many business units and technology teams to solve critical problems. The team is composed of scientists, technologists, and market practitioners who leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power the firm.
Responsibilities
- Independently tackle research problems with commercial applications
- Apply technical expertise and research acumen to real-world financial and operating problems
- Leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power the firm
- Collaborate with business units and technology teams to solve complex problems
Requirements
- Track record of exceptionally creative, hands-on, high-impact machine learning research and applications, evidenced by publications in competitive venues
- Broad experience across multiple fields is a plus
- Development experience in Python or R (C, C++, Java, etc is a plus)
- Strong understanding of statistical learning methods
- Strong communications and organizational skills
- 4+ years of applicable research experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Ph.D. desired
