Overview
WindBorne Systems is seeking a senior engineer to optimize our weather forecasting system. Our mission is to provide real-time, high-quality weather intelligence to help humanity adapt to climate change.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have experience running production systems end-to-end, managing large datasets, and optimizing inference scaling and compute strategies. They will also be responsible for building data pipelines and training infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Research to Operations pipelines
- Inference scaling & compute strategy
- Data pipelines & upstream reliability
- Training infrastructure
Requirements
- Experience with large datasets spanning petabytes
- Understanding of cloud GPU economics and workload balancing
- Comfortable with fast-paced model releases and custom deployment
- Experience with PyTorch, Docker, cursed memory management, compression, and debugging network saturation
Qualifications
- Have run production systems end-to-end
