Job Description

The Electromagnetic Warfare Survivability Modeling and Simulation Division (EWSMS) in the Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory (EOSL) at GTRI seeks Graduate Research Assistants to conduct automated machine learning research during Fall 2026.

  • Curate data
  • Run simulations and optimizations
  • Develop algorithms
  • Apply machine learning research to electronic warfare challenges

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages, Python preferred
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts or genetic programming projects
  • Task / team leadership experience
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Experience with machine learning or genetic programming projects

Graduate Research Assistant Pursuing a Master's degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) during working semesters
  • 3.0 or higher GPA

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas in non-technical language
  • Familiarity with Linux and configuration management tools
  • Experience with Evolutionary Multi-objective Algorithm Design Engine (EMADE) toolset
  • Currently or previously enrolled in Georgia Tech’s VIP Automated Algorithm Design (AAD) course (i.e. VIP 2601, VIP 3601, VIP 3602, VIP 4601, VIP 4602, VIP 6603)
