Accountabilities

  • Help design, build, and optimize AI-driven features that enhance user experiences and improve platform intelligence.
  • Work across the machine learning lifecycle, from experimentation and model development to production deployment and performance optimization.
  • Build and iterate on consumer-facing AI features powered by large language models (LLMs) and generative AI technologies.
  • Collaborate across the AI engineering stack, including prompt engineering, agent workflows, model evaluation, and optimization.
  • Design and run structured experiments, including A/B tests and offline evaluations, to measure improvements in engagement, quality, and trust.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to translate user needs into scalable machine learning solutions.
  • Improve AI system reliability through monitoring, quality analysis, guardrails, and investigation of failure modes.
  • Optimize production AI systems for performance, cost efficiency, latency, and scalability.
  • Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, experimentation, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Motivated early-career engineer with strong foundations in machine learning, software development, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with graduation expected in 2025 or 2026.
  • Strong understanding of the mathematical foundations behind machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience working with LLM applications, transformer models, or related AI technologies.
  • Proficiency in Python or C++, or the ability to quickly learn new programming languages.
  • Strong written English skills, with the ability to evaluate tone, accuracy, clarity, and nuance in content.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning new technologies.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams in a remote environment.
  • Availability for collaboration during required coordination hours (Monday to Friday, 9 AM-3 PM Pacific Time).
  • Previous software engineering experience through internships, professional experience, or coding competitions is a plus.
  • Experience building AI agents or production-scale machine learning systems is an advantage.
