Machine Learning Engineer at Asymptote Capital

Overview

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join our team and contribute to the development, training, and evaluation of machine learning models. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with real-world datasets and modern machine learning technologies while gaining practical experience in building and improving AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models.
• Prepare, clean, and preprocess datasets for model development.
• Perform feature engineering and data analysis.
• Design and run experiments to improve model performance.
• Evaluate models using appropriate metrics and validation methods.
• Assist with model optimization and deployment.
• Research and experiment with new machine learning techniques and architectures.
• Debug and troubleshoot machine learning pipelines and model performance issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and researchers on AI projects.
• Document experiments, methodologies, and results.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts and algorithms.
• Familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a technical team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Familiarity with deep learning and neural networks.
• Experience with LLMs, transformers, or generative AI.
• Familiarity with model fine-tuning and evaluation.
• Experience working with large datasets or GPU-based computing.
• Knowledge of SQL, Git, Docker, or cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Previous machine learning research, internship, or personal project experience is a plus.
