Machine Helper - 1st Shift

About the role

As a Fortune 500 company, Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) seeks to lead in helping customers package, transport, and display products. Our team of approximately 15,000 members across 100+ locations works to meet local customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to increase productivity, decrease downtime and waste.
• Assume an active role in plant and facilities-related work.
• Assist with all jobs on the plant floor.
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Maintain shop and shop equipment according to 5S standards.
• May be required to stack parts up to 30 lbs. for up to 12 hours.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• A passion for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to work the first shift.
• A good attendance record.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Understanding of varying temperatures and volumes of work.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities including willingness to work closely with production personnel, sharing ideas to solve problems, excellent communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pay

Starting salary for the position: $18 per hour.

Annual bonus based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
