Machine Design Engineer
Join our dynamic team as a Machine Design Engineer, where you will be instrumental in designing mechanical and pneumatic systems for industrial equipment using SolidWorks. This role involves overseeing project management within the design group to ensure the team meets project timelines and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Use SolidWorks to produce machining, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
- Create complete BOMs for equipment building and transfer them into the production system.
- Resolve design and testing problems on equipment.
- Perform final inspection of equipment to ensure it meets design intent and customer requirements.
- Travel 20% of the time to support installations.
- Direct activities to ensure design, manufacturing, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- 5+ years of experience in Machine Design or Mechanical Design
- Experience with engineering calculations, including statics, dynamics, and heat transfer
- Ability to select components such as motor sizing and cylinder sizing
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Skills
- Experience in Extrusion Handling System Design
- Project Management Experience
- General understanding of controls as it affects mechanical design
Work Environment
You will be part of a collaborative team of 10 Mechanical Engineers and 10 Controls Engineers. The role may require travel up to 20% of the time, including a few weeks in the field to assist with installations.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $48.00/hr.
