Top 5 Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, lead and prioritize the building, installation and RAIL processes.
- Communicate any build issues and redline according to the company processes.
- Integrate electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within the mechanical assemblies.
- Provide mentorship and training to machine builders and apprentices.
- Lead assembly and installation projects to ensure they are completed on schedule and within budget.
Additional Responsibilities / Duties
- Assemble, align, and install mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical components in automation systems.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while handling tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate machine assembly.
- Perform troubleshooting and adjustments on machinery to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and programmers to integrate mechanical and control systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and parts are properly stored.
- Align, fit, and adjust parts to ensure smooth operation and proper tolerances.
- Assist in the installation of pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems within machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and minor electrical issues during assembly.
- Absorb and document assembly processes and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and training for Level 1 and Level 2 Machine Builders.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
- 4 plus years’ experience in machine building, preferably in an automation or manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training.
- Vocational school or junior technical college training in related industry.
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing noted tasks related to machinery building and repair work.
- Experience with precision alignment and the use of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills, with experience in pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the automation industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel on installs inside and outside the United States.
- Must furnish the basic hand tools of the trade.
- Ability to operate a forklift.

- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
