About the role
Citizens Health is seeking a full-time medical assistant to support the surgery clinic at Citizens Medical Center. The position involves assisting surgeons, preparing patient charts, providing pre-op education, and more.
Responsibilities
- Aid general surgeons in patient care settings, including patient assessments and assisting with procedures.
- Prepare pre-operative patient charts and provide pre-op education to patients.
- Perform appropriate telephone triage using established guidelines for post-op patients.
- Review patient medication and surgical history and prepare prescription requests for medical providers.
- Provide general surgery education to patients and families.

- Lifting and lowering patients/objects with 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Moving patients/objects over 50 pounds requires assistance of a mechanical lifting device or another person.
- Maintaining normal vision and hearing.
- Operating various medical equipment and tools.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified medical assistant program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid Kansas driver’s license.

Pay
Pay range is dependent upon experience and certification.
Schedule
Full-time, 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
