MA/Phlebotomist - Certified (CPT) -

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly, welcoming, and confidential environment for Veterans.
• Maintain office hours Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; no evenings, holidays, on‑call, or weekends.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in the electronic medical record.
• Obtain medical histories and verify patient information.
• Prepare, assist with, and accurately complete all required forms.
• Support patient care delivery and assist providers during examinations and treatment.
• Perform vital signs and ancillary tests in accordance with skill level, certifications, and state regulations.
• Conduct ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director (e.g., PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws) and as certified.
• Collect laboratory specimens from patients and submit results to medical providers.
• Schedule clinic appointments, manage patient check‑in/out, and verify clinical reminders at each visit.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program.
• Current Phlebotomy certification.
• Knowledge of computer systems, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated high‑quality customer service.
• Two years of continuous experience in clinical operations or medical office work post‑externship.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (renewable annually).
