MA / Medical Assistant - Primary Care at Belltown

About the role

UW Medicine Primary Care at Belltown offers appointments six days a week, including evenings and same-day appointments. Medical advice is available 24 hours a week. This position is full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, Day Shift.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
• Perform injections
• Prepare and clean exam rooms
• Submit medication prior authorizations
• Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
• Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
• Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
• Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
• Assist in transporting patients as required

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6 months of hire
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration

Pay Range: Minimum $28.56 hourly, Maximum $40.86 hourly
